The Harris Matrix: Archaeological
Theory and Practice in the Roman Forum Excavations at Butrint
The first presentation of the seminar series “The Harris Matrix:
Archaeological Theory and Practice in the Roman Forum Excavations at
Butrint” was done by David Hernandez.

The topic presented in the lecture
showed the importance of Harris Matrix which is based on the
stratigraphical relationship, but also described the interpretation
of physical relationships and many of context sheets. Some of the
discussed issues included also the principles of archaeological
stratigraphy, Roman Forum excavations at Butrint 2004-2006, the
Harris Matrix prepared preliminarily for this area, etc.

The meeting was attended by a large
audience, mainly young archeologists and University students who
discussed lively about the topic.
